Persimmon Toast

Surely you've heard of, and probably tried avocado toast, but what about persimmon toast? Hear me out, this one's a gamechanger. Persimmon are finally in season, and make a delicious addition to not only breakfast, but charcuterie boards as well!

These sweet fruits resemble the cross between a tomato and an orange. However, their taste and texture is similar to a mango.

Here's what you'll need to make Persimmon toast:

  • 1 large ripe persimmon

  • 1 slice country white bread or whole wheat (crusty bread tastes best!)

  • Herbed Goat cheese

  • Honey

  • Fennel fronds or fresh mint

  • toaster

  • paring knife

  • cutting board

Step 1

Slice off the top leaves from the Persimmon. Next, slice the fruit in fourths, and then in thin slices.

Step 2

Place the bread in the toaster for desired amount of time.

Step 3

Once the bread is toasted, begin layering the Persimmon slices neatly onto the toast.

Step 4

Spread the herbed goat cheese in crumbles all over the top of the persimmon slices.

Step 5

Drizzle with honey, and garnish with fresh mint.

This recipe is too easy not to try! The delicious herby goat cheese, paired with the sweet honey and persimmon is a match made in heaven. Plus, who doesn't love crusty bread? Try this at home this holiday season for brunch, it pairs beautifully with mimosas!
