My Favorite Year-Round Candles
Let’s face it, we’ve all been spending a lot more time at home these days. Quarantine, might be making you a little stir crazy, but all the more reason to make home your sanctuary!
I’m giving y’all the scoop on my favorite candles that guests have complimented. They range in price, and can be purchased either in store, or online. Not too sweet, yet powerful in potency and burning time, these are my year-round favs!
ANTHROPOLOGIE “TONKA AND TOBACCO LEAF”
Price: $24
Scent: Warm and cozy, very fragrant!
Availability: Typically a seasonal scent, so, I highly recommend buying a couple in the fall/winter months and putting them away. I purchased this candle at Nordstrom, in store, however, I would definitely try searching for this one online as well, via nordstrom.com and anthropologie.com. This is my most complimented candle, ever!
Aesthetic: This candle has beautiful packaging, which is why it usually has a permanent home on our bar cart! When the candle has completely burned, I like to remove the wax remnants, and use the container for things like makeup brushes, bobby pins, etc.
VOLUSPA “CRISP CHAMPAGNE”
Price: $12 on Nordstrom anniversary sale, originally $18
Scent: Fresh, and crisp, without being floral. This scent will definitely fill the room!
Availability: Crisp champagne by Voluspa is almost always available at either Nordstrom or Anthropologie in store and online. Now is the time to buy, to catch Anniversary Sale pricing!
Aesthetic: All Voluspa candles come in beautiful, almost Moroccan printed tins. I personally love the art-deco look of this one! Same thing, I also clean this tins out once the candle has burned in entirety and use them to hold small things in my vanity.
OLIVE BRANCH DECOR “WHITE TEA”
Price: $30
Scent: Floral and fresh
Availability: My sweet friend, Kelsey, sent me this candle in a gift set that included a succulent and set of matches to congratulate me on a promotion. There are various gift sets from Olive Branch Decor on Etsy for all occasions. This is a great gift idea!
Aesthetic: The candle itself doesn’t have much to it, however, the entire gift set is beautiful!
P.F. CANDLE CO “NO. 4: TEAKWOOD AND TOBACCO”
Price: $28
Scent: Warm and spicy, Justin calls this a “mandle” (Manly candle.)
Availability: Recently purchased this candle at Nordstrom, in store. All of their scents are incredible, and available to order online at pfcandleco.com
Aesthetic: Not my favorite packaging, it’s essentially just a jar. I do like that the jar can be cleaned out and reused, though!
TWISTED ARROW GOODS “OAK BURL NO. 3: A LITTLE KNOTTY”
Price: $26 keep an eye out for seasonal sales!
Scent: I don’t even know how to describe this scent other than, sexy! To me, this candle smells like luxury and warmth. It paints a picture of a wood burning fireplace and a delicious glass of red wine.
Availability: If you live in Texas, you can purchase this candle at Twisted Arrow Goods. If not, this candle is available at twistedarrowgoods.com. Hands down, my all time favorite scent! Everyone needs this candle in their home!
Aesthetic: Oak Burl No. 3 has very clean packaging. I like that it can be placed in any room, with any decor!
LIGHTWELL CO. “TOBACCO & BAY LEAF”
Price: $24
Scent: Warm and fresh
Availability: Lightwell Co. candles tend to sell out quickly at boutiques. I purchased this one from Fourth & Nomad, here in Houston. At lightwellco.com you can purchase this candle, and choose between a black tumbler, or white, depending on your home decor and desired aesthetic.
Aesthetic: Again, I love how clean this packaging is. I also love that you can choose which color tumbler you like online.
