Four Corner Chocolate Chip Brownies

IMG_1022.jpg

It’s no secret, everything is better when made from scratch. These chocolate chip brownies are no different. What’s more, the best part of brownies are the corner pieces, in my opinion. I’ll link the holy grail of brownie pans for ya’ll below, because everyone deserves a brownie with 4 corners.

Justin has turned me into a total chocolate lover over the last few years. His sweet tooth typically leads me to most of my dessert, and late night treat recipes. These brownies are the perfect combination of chewy, fudgey texture, with melty chocolate chips, and the shiny flakey top layer… the best!

Trust me, you’ll want to save this recipe!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Large glass bowl

  • Whisk

  • Square baking pan

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 egg yolk

  • 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips (to melt)

  • 10 tbsp. salted butter

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon fine salt

  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (to mix in)

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease brownie pan with either non stick spray or butter. In the large glass bowl, combine 1/2 cup of semi sweet chocolate chips and butter. Melt in microwave in 30 second increments, stirring in between.

Step 2

Add granulated sugar to the melted butter and chocolate while still hot. Whisk well. Allow the mixture to cool to almost room temperature.

Step 3

Once just barely warm, add eggs, extra yolk, and vanilla to the bowl. Whisk consistently until well combined, about a minute.

Step 4

Next, combine flour, salt, and cocoa powder until combined. I personally like to use a fork for this step, as the cocoa powder tends to clump up.

Step 5

Mix in 1 cup of chocolate chips.

Step 6

Fill each brownie square halfway with batter. Cook on the middle rack of the oven for 25-30 min. depending on your oven.

Once removed from the oven, allow the brownies to cool in the same pan for 15-20 min. before placing them on a cooling rack or dish. The chocolate chips stay perfectly melty on the inside for days! Store in an air-tight container, and enjoy! P.S. these are amazing with ice cream!
