Salon Nails At Home
Getting your nails done can be both therapeutic and exhausting. You sit there for an hour, hands tied, with the smell of acetone so strong, you get a little loopy. I can honestly say, I don’t remember when I last got my nails done at the salon. Quarantine has turned me into a DIY gal! This isn’t an ad, I am just THAT excited to tell y’all about Apres Nails!
I’ve always loved the look of longer nails, but hated how damaging acrylics can be. Finally, a gel option exists, and it’s actually impressive. Apres nails are pretty much foolproof to apply, thankfully, and adhere with gel. A typical set takes me no more than fifteen minutes to put on, and lasts at least two weeks!
I stumbled upon this company searching for nail DIY on Instagram. I’ll admit, the videos are a bit intimidating, because so many salon owners use this product! Although, it is definitely a good sign that these nails are used by professionals. After some research, I decided to go ahead and order from their website, apresnail.com.
There are a wide variety of products on the site, however, I highly recommend starting with the Chain Legend X Apres Gel-X Kit. This kit retails $125, and has just about everything you’ll need. You can check out the other kits for different nail shapes, or just purchase a separate bundle to switch it up.
Each kit includes 250 nails, a bonding coat, primer, extend gel, top coat, light, emery board, and carrying case with dustbag. If you think about it, your average acrylic set at the salon is around $50 before tip. You’ll be getting 25 sets, for $125, which is a major savings. Not to mention, with the gel-x formula, you’re also saving your nails from major damage.
It may take a few tries to really feel confident when applying your nails, but once you do, application takes no time at all! Apres Nails has just launched a new collection with different colored nails and a variety of gel polish colors.
Like I said, I highly recommend trying these out! I’ve been really impressed with how easy they are to apply, and how durable they are. Can’t wait to hear how these work out for y’all. As always, tag @Junk.In.Love on Instagram so I can see your quarantine nails!
